PIA DEL NORTE

This school- and family production brings together a special duo consisting of woodwinds (very many of them!) and percussive dance.

What happens when the wood-winds chameleon Kai Sundquist meets Pia the flamenco dancer? Rhythms and tones from traditional flamenco collide with Stravinskij and rock n roll in this acoustic performance. Kai brings along seemingly countless wind instruments that magically interact with Pia's flamenco footwork. And maybe you even get the chance to try a flamenco rhythm yourself?

Language: Swedish, or Finnish, English or Spanish at request

Duration: 30 min with the possibility to chat with the artists and try Pias portable flamencofloor afterwards!

Flamencotopia premiered at Gnestadagarna in 2025 as a free continuation to Pling Tuut Ta-Ria Takata and has since been played among else as a part of Efterhäng in Stockholm
