PIA DEL NORTE

We are four female artists based in different parts of Europe, with a strong connection to our respective traditions. In The Long Journey to Now we explore the possibilities of merging our worlds. We go to places where our voices can rise without giving up our own identity and create a shared space for visual music - a music that can be suitable both for a seated audience and for a lively dance floor.

Our respective musical universes as a starting point, we can create a common expression with traditional Swedish music, the French-Belgian folk dance, and Spanish flamenco song and dance, where we would harmoniously cross each other’s genres in tone and rhythm, without one dominating over the others. 

We offer a key to invite an audience that listens and dances into new perspectives and explore visual music, how we can work on stage with placement/choreography in a way that is different from what we are used to as an important element to enhance the auditory experience.
